Fiona Bell

FionaMy daughter is in P4 and my son is in P1.  I would like to make a valuable contribution to the Parent Council to continue to support the team at Dean Park Primary to provide an excellent educational experience.  I am at the school gates Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday’s if I can help in any way.

Simon May

SimonI am a parent of a P4 pupil and this is my second year on the Parent Council. I am a former pupil of Dean Park Primary and got involved in the Parent Council as I am keen to learn more about the school and help shape the policy and future of Dean Park. My professional background is in secondary education and I hold the post of Principal Teacher (Curriculum) Health and Wellbeing at Balerno Community High School.

Sarah Grant

SarahI have 2 daughters at Dean Park, one in P5 and one in P2.  I joined the parent council in October 2015, as the treasurer, to learn more about what goes on at the school and to help represent parents voices and opinions.

Yvonne Kerr

YvonneI have a daughter in P4 and a son in P1 and have been a member of the Parent Council for about 3 years. I joined in an effort to support the staff and school in the work they do. I can be found at the school gates on a Wednesday and Friday if you ever want to speak to me, thanks.

Sarah Matheson

SarahMMy daughter is in Primary 2 and you can usually catch me at the school gates on Mondays and Fridays if you want me to raise something at a meeting.

Julia Sproul

GSproulI have 2 boys, one in P4 and one in P6. I joined the Parent Council to support the school to provide a high quality education experienced by all pupils and to assist the hard working staff that are striving to achieve on-going improvement in school life. I have a background in education and in working with parents. I am keen that the whole Parent Forum feel able to have their voice heard. If you wish to discuss anything I am usually at the school gates on a Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

 Saafia Rahman

I have 2 children at Dean Park primary school in P5 and P2. With a background in law, defending the rights of Government departments, companies and individuals, I joined the Parent Council to actively represent the views of the Parent Forum and to help shape policies, which enhance our children’s educational experience and reflect the rich, cultural diversity, within our school. If you would like to raise any issues with the Parent Council, I am available to discuss at the school gates on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Lynne Watson

 Cal McCrea

I joined the Parent Council when our son began Primary 1 to learn more about life in the school and take part. I enjoy finding out about what’s going on and the discussion around different issues, always with a view to what’s best for pupils and parents, mindful of the views of parents expressed through the channels of communication.

Andrea Brewster

My two children are at Balerno High School, both having attended Dean Park before. I was a parent member of the parent council for 5 years and now I’m a co-opted member, providing a link with both Balerno High School and the wider community. Although I’m no longer at the school gate I’m often around and about in Balerno and more than happy to talk about how I can represent ideas at either the primary or secondary school!
